Jake Higgins and Friends will explore a variety of jazz styles including bebop, Latin jazz, and modern jazz. The quartet features Jonathan Fung (guitar), Andrew Van Tassel (saxophone), Alex Van Gils (bass), and Britton Upchurch (drums).

Sarah Carrier (DJ Misty Touch) is a graduate student at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A veteran club and radio DJ, Misty Touch got her start at UNC-Chapil Hill's student-run radio station, WXYC. She has been collecting records since her mother bestowed the family collection upon her when she was an adolescent. Carrier lives in Raleigh with her three-legged dog.

Celebrate the opening of New Currents in Contemporary Art: UNC-Chapel Hill Master of Fine Arts Exhibition.

Lake Inferior is an indie band on student-run label Vinyl Records. Their "infectious mix of pop and electronic music" (The Daily Tarheel) will be sure to bring added spunk to this evening's special Ackland after Dark, which coincides with the opening of New Currents in Contemporary Art: UNC-Chapel Hill Master of Fine Arts Exhibition. The group features Nasir Abbas, Bo Beard, Dax Beaton, Logan Hornebuckle, and Derek Torres.

This Friday, Holly Springs based musician Andrew Robbins-Pollack will return to the Museum for Ackland after Dark. He will be sharing more of his innovative electronica compositions and will debut the some of his latest work off his new album Tautochrone.
