If you love art and enjoy people, the Ackland Art Museum needs you. Greet visitors, host receptions, lead tours and more. On-site training provided for all areas of interest.
Visitor Services
Provide a welcoming and informative first point of contact at our front desk.
Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age.
Prefer individuals who are outgoing, personable and comfortable with the public and sharing information.

Administrative Support
Use your organizational and clerical skills to further the Museum's mission.
Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age.
General office work such as filing, typing, copying and answering phones is needed.

Gallery Teachers
Ackland volunteer gallery teachers (docents) assist in fulfilling the educational mission of the Museum and of its Education Department.
Volunteers are selected on the basis of an interview with staff every two years and are asked to make a two-year commitment to the program.

Special Events
Assist staff members at public programs and receptions.
Many events are after hours or on weekends.

Use your database skills to assist the Registration department in data entry.
Preferred qualifications: Detail-oriented individuals with advanced database skills.
Tasks involved require a high level of accuracy.
