Ackland Art Museum to receive a collection of nearly 50 works of art, valued at $5.5 million, from Dr. Hugh A. “Chip” McAllister Jr. of Houston.

Part of a $10 million commitment to The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the portion benefiting the Ackland is the single largest gift of art in the Museum’s history.
