PASSAGE
BOUCHARDY
This glimpse of the entrance to a Paris alleyway is a slice of commercial life. At the left a clock in a window suggests a jeweller or antique shop; at the right fruits and vegetables are displayed in front of a grocer's. Between them a street peddler is accompanied by his dog and a youthful assistant. Evidently a maker or mender of cheap tin-wares, he watches over a cart loaded with pots and pans.
