INTRODUCTION TO THE EXHIBIT

Seasons of Paris is an exhibit whose central theme is the city of Paris – its planning, monuments, people, site, natural features, and “image” – from 1700 to the present day.  Professor Mary Sheriff’s first year seminar class, Paris: Representing the City of Light, organized the exhibit.  Students from this class collaborated to select the objects to be shown, to research those objects, to write informative labels and brochures, and to create a web page and public outreach programs.  The class would especially like to thank Professor Mary Sheriff for her continued support during this endeavor.  Also, the exhibit could not have been possible without the help of Professor Timothy Riggs or Professor Carolyn Wood.  We hope you enjoy this exhibit as much as we enjoyed putting it together.
