Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism, and Islam, the faiths represented in Five Artists * Five Faiths trace their history through centuries of human experience and rich cultural heritage. Please join us for a series of music, dance, and narrative performances by University and area performers that illuminate the artistic expressions of spirituality in the exhibition.
Performances will take place in the Ackland galleries and will last approximately one hour. A reception, included in the ticket price, will follow the final performance. Series tickets $25; $15 for students. Individual performances $8; $5 for students. Complimentary admission for Ackland Art Museum members. Space is limited and advance registration required. Experience the Diwan of Shaykh Muhammad Ibn al-Habib, the great Qur'anic scholar and composer, in this concert of choral music accompanied by handheld drum. An ensemble led by Mustapha Shoukee will perform and interpret four songs from this world-renowned devotional masterpiece.

Witness the talented dancers of Sangam, the University's South Asian Awareness Organization, in a stirring performance specially choreographed for the Ackland galleries in conjunction with this exhibition.
Jewish and Buddhist Narratives

Join masterful storyteller Louise Omoto Kessel and fellow members of the World Religions Storytelling Project as they share tales from the Jewish and Buddhist traditions. (This program is suitable for children ages 10 and above.)

Seeking and Certainty: Conversations on Art, Faith, and Our Changing Cultural
Landscape
Beginning on April 25th the Five Faiths Project kicked off a series
of conversations in the galleries introducing the core beliefs and practices
of Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism, Christianity, and Islam through works of art.
Join us for the remaining sessions in this eight part series, where university
scholars and area faith leaders introduce traditions and topics, explore art,
and create opportunities for interactive dialog with session participants.
