The Ackland Art Museum is located at 101 S. Columbia Street, near the SE corner of Franklin Street, in downtown Chapel Hill. It is adjacent to the Hanes Art Center on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus.

From Greensboro
From I-40 East, take Exit 266 (NC-86 South/Chapel Hill). Keep right at the fork and continue on NC-86 South (Martin Luther King, Jr Blvd) for approximately 4 miles into downtown Chapel Hill. Cross the intersection with Franklin Street. The Ackland will be on the left.
From Raleigh and RDU Airport
From I-40 West, take the Chapel Hill 273A exit. Follow Raleigh Road/South Road through campus. Turn right on Columbia Street (86 North). Nearing Franklin Street, the Ackland will be on the right.
From Durham
On I-85, exit right at the 15-501 South (Chapel Hill) exit. At the edge of Chapel Hill, take the Franklin Street exit. In the downtown area, turn left on Columbia Street (86 South). The Ackland is on the immediate left.
The Ackland and downtown Chapel Hill are easily accessible by most Chapel Hill Transit bus lines. Click here for a map.

The Ackland's front entrance is ramped and an elevator serves all floors of the Museum. The Ackland's restrooms are accessible.
